3 week bench trial

I had just finished a 3 week bench trial which involved a retired police officer who fired a weapon in the air as self defense against an approaching individual and came out not guilty verdict.

This case started out as a multi-defendant case where the other two defendants had entered a plea of guilty to a felony assault with a deadly weapon. My client elected to fight the charges and potentially face a serious long term prison term. However, because of his belief in his innocence and that he was protecting himself and others, he decided to go forward with the trial. He was charged with numerous counts of a use of a firearm, loaded firearm and discharging of the firearm. With the help of a excellent investigative team and experts I was successful in obtaining a not guilty verdict.
